The Smith Center's facilities, including the pool, sauna, track, fitness center, weight room, basketball courts, racquetball courts and squash courts, are open to alumni free of charge during the Fall 2008 Semester (September-December)* during the following hours (subject to building availability):

Friday: after 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Sunday: 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

* Please Note: due to renovations, complimentary access to the Smith Center will only be available to alumni through December 31, 2008.

Alumni living in the Foggy Bottom/West End neighborhood are now eligible to apply for membership to the Health and Wellness Center. To be eligible for membership you must reside in the area generally bounded by 19th Street on the east, Constitution Avenue on the south, Rock Creek Park on the west, and N Street on the north (see Zoning Map).

Alumni memberships are limited to 250 per year and are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost for a one-year membership is $325. Eligible alumni may also join the President's Club at a higher membership rate. The President's Club offers additional amenities such as a steam room and sauna, as well as laundry and towel service.

Alumni with a GWorld card have to access to the Gelman Library's open collection of books, journals, microfilms, special collections, and other non-circulating items at no charge. For an annual fee of $50 (payable at the Circulation Desk), alumni may obtain limited borrowing privileges.

The Jacob Burns Law Library provides access to its collection for graduates of the GW Law School. It also offers alumni access to selected databases for locating articles, books and related materials, as well as on-site reference service. A Law School alumni card or GWorld card is required for access.

The Luther W. Brady Art Gallery features several exhibitions each year, including university-related shows and permanent collection exhibitions. The gallery also administers the university's permanent collection, including important paintings, sculptures, graphics, textiles, ceramics, historic furnishings, and photographs.
