Application Deadlines

Listed below are the general deadlines for receiving completed admission applications. A number of programs within the schools have earlier deadlines. These are noted under the specific program in the School Information sections. The School Information sections also indicate the semesters in which admission is offered. Note: If a deadline falls on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday) or a GW holiday, applications will be accepted the next business day.

Late applications will be considered for admission and financial assistance if space and awards are available.

*Please note the following possible exceptions:

Elliott School of international Affairs: A limited number of programs accept spring applicants. To confirm whether a program in the Elliott School of International Affairs accepts applications for the spring, contact the school's admissions office.

Graduate School of Education and Human Development: Doctoral applicants to the off-campus Ed.D. programs in the Graduate School of Education and Human Development can apply for summer, with a March 1 deadline. A limited number of programs in the Graduate School of Education and Human Development accept summer applications from international applicants. To confirm whether a program admits international applicants for the summer session and to determine deadline dates, contact the school's admissions office.

School of Business: Applications for the doctoral program are not accepted for spring

School of Engineering and Applied Science: A limited number of doctoral applicants are accepted for the summer. Please contact the school's admissions office for details.

Although you should make every effort to meet the admission application deadline, we know that some applicants will decide to attend graduate school after the stated deadlines. If this occurs, discuss your situation with the graduate admissions director for the school to which you are applying. There may still be space available in the program. If not, you may apply now for the next semester in which your program begins.
